We are a friendly group of people with wide ranging and varied interests in "how things work" and how they affect our social and personal environment. The group usually meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month at various times and locations. Outings are regularly arranged to visit places of interest. Previous activities have included a behind the scenes tour of the Royal Albert Hall, visits to the National Space Centre, Chatham Dockyard, the Brands Museum, the Army Museum, RAF Halton, Portsmouth Dockyard and to Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust. In 2025 we toured the Cabinet War Rooms, Secrets of the Natural History Museum, Big Ben, a Forge near Hatfield, and a signal box in St Albans. Plans for visits in 2026 include the London Museum, Frogmore Paper Mill, Big Ben, a Gunpowder Mill and behind the scenes at the Royal Opera House. There are some spaces so contact Sheila if you wish to join the group.
